Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing all supply chain activities related to sourcing, purchasing, logistics, supplier management and documentation compliance according to QMS in the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sourcing for new or alternative materials.
- Request sample from vendor and manage the sample evaluation process.
- Issue purchase order, tracking and expediting order placed.
- Review MRP requirement prior purchase order issuance.
- Review and update materials price in QAD systems.
- Liaise with production planner to ensure materials delivered prior to production run.
- Assist Supply Chain Executive to maintain, review, and update Approved Vendor List (AVL) as per QMS.
- Establish new supplier/vendor in Approved Vendor List (AVL) when required.
- Assist Supply Chain Executive to perform yearly AVL suppliers’ renewal evaluation process as per QMS.
- Assist Supply Chian Executive to perform Supplier Change Request activities as per QMS and ensure all deliverable task is being done according to the specified time frame.
- Liaise with forwarding agents on custom and port clearance process when required.
- Liaise with supplier on claims on defective materials via issuance of Return to Supplier (RTS).
- Problem solving and disposition for vendor’s delivery discrepancy.
- Perform as a supporting role for supplier audit when required.
- Propose new or improved supply chain processes.
- Ensure all documents are filed accordingly & archive records as per QMS.
Key Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Business Studies/Administration/Management/ Supply Chain or equivalent.
- Two years’ experience working in Supply Chain related industry.
- Preferably with at least one year’s experience working in a manufacturing environment that is ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 certified.
- Good written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Knowledge of ISO 13485, FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and GMP is an advantage.
- Able to work in a team and with minimum supervision.
- Proactive and willing to learn.
- Familiar with materials sourcing/purchasing and logistics activities.
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word.
