Two Good Design award wins for Ensera Design

Our global design consultancy Ensera Design has received two GOOD DESIGN® awards which span both our UK and US design consultancies, with the awards recognizing our work across both medical devices and consumer health. Since its inception in 1950, The GOOD DESIGN® award has since been an award that highlights both products and industry leaders in design and manufacturing that have explored new directions for innovation.

Our US team was awarded for supporting the development of the Porter MIDAS™ Digital Touchscreen Flowmeter, a modern solution that simplifies and improves the delivery of nitrous oxide and oxygen in dental settings. Our UK team was celebrated for helping Stannah bring the Uplifts homelift to market, a discreet through‑floor lift designed to support independence and mobility at home.

MIDAS™ Digital Touchscreen Flowmeter

Parker Hannifin / Porter (Ensera Design US)

The MIDAS™ Flowmeter replaces traditional manual controls with a clear, intuitive touchscreen while retaining essential physical safety features. By improving visibility, precision and ease of use, it gives clinicians a more responsive and reliable workflow.

Working on behalf of Parker Hannifin / Porter, the team supported the creation of the product’s digital interface and user experience, helping to reimagine the flowmeter interaction to improve clarity, visibility and ease of use. The team also contributed to the system’s versatility by helping to define a solution that could be installed on walls, carts or integrated cabinetry, adapting to varied clinical environments.

Uplifts homelift

Stannah (Ensera Design UK)

Uplifts, developed in partnership with Stannah, offers a compact and attractive home‑lift solution that accommodates a wide range of mobility needs, from standing passengers to full‑size wheelchairs. Designed for quick, low‑disruption installation, it features a self‑supporting structure and helps people with reduced mobility, as a result of a range of health conditions, maintain independence, safety and comfort within their own homes.

A key focus of the project was rapid, low‑disruption installation. Stannah’s engineering and manufacturing teams developed a self‑supporting structure that avoids the need for wall fixings, allowing installation often within a single day. Ensera Design’s role included supporting user‑centered design considerations, helping refine how the product would be packaged, assembled, operated and maintained. Since its first installations in Autumn 2024, Uplifts has seen strong demand, highlighting the growing need for accessible mobility solutions that support long‑term health and independence at home.
